The worst kind of Public Official: “I am the kind of Public Official who wants to make things better. For me!“
~
Nearly all Legislatures, Counties, Townships, and Municipalities are filled with Public Officials who proudly proclaim: “I want to make things better!” While they say that, the increasing taxes they inflict upon on us are taking so much money from families that birth rates have been plummeting, with some of our Counties are projecting 20% population losses. So, we know that many Public Officials are making things worse.
“I want to make things better.” is often a self-serving lie that becomes truth when two words are added: “for me!”
~
Chapter 4 of The Butler Novel lets us see that the damage they do here is being done wherever they can in every County and State.
A handful of people in Pennsylvania, and most States, control the nominating process. All who say “I want to make things better for me!“ know they do not want people in offices or on Courts who will keep money taken from families flowing to them and their donors.
There are 67 Counties in Pennsylvania. A handful people at the State Level decide which Republicans and Democrats will be nominated in every State election. They do not want legislative or judicial candidates who will stop those who use public service to “Make things better for me!“
Their carefully controlled media keeps that fact from being widely understood. They marginalize anyone who may threaten cash flows to Profiteers. Interestingly, some Republicans have been “Anti-Trump” since he was first elected in 2016. Many pretended to support Mr. Trump while undermining him at every opportunity until his re-election in 2024. Many“Never Trumpers” have camouflaged themselves while making their recent attacks on Representative Democracy by removing Secret Ballots from the PAGOP election to keep people with family values out of government positions.
A smaller version of every State’s political structure exists in every County. Those addicted to “Make things better For Me” do not want to be replaced by anyone who may point out the vast waste of taxpayer money that enriches the usual donors. They do not want anyone nominated who may worry enough about the eternal fate of their immortal soul to obey “Thou shall not steal” and “Thou shall not bear false witness.” They prefer those who praise them and the process by which free-spending looters of helpless families are empowered.
We saw in Chapter 2 that Public Education Profiteers, whose leaders are chosen by Democrats in urban areas, are presiding over a disappearing student population whose costs per student are skyrocketing as more families are destroyed. They work to make it impossible for anyone who will defend Family Budgets to get nominated for any Public Office.
Chapter 3 clearly shows how one small group in the borough of Prospect, PA (and innumerable other places) made every family one or two hundred thousand dollars poorer than those blessed to be in munincipalities whose leaders did not force them onto unnecessary Public Sewage because: “I want to make things better for me!“
Chapter 4 will explore gaining some control of the Nominating Process, without which no real progress may be made.

When it became apparent that the PAGOP changed its bylaws to reject Secret Ballots, many wondered: “Why didn’t they allow Secret Ballots at the PAGOP election of approved nominees?” We soon realized that a few people controlled the State Committee and kept anyone they disfavored from being nominated. A threat was reported: “If you vote against our candidate, we will destroy your business.”
Five simple bylaw changes could make Republican nominations open for voting to Pro-Family Republicans:
1. Secret Ballots must be used at every level to ensure there is no “bullying” by those who are able to force people to vote openly for approved candidates for monetary reasons. “Bully Ballots” only count for identifying those who support them.
2. Favoring the transfer of tax funding to parents who choose other than Public Schools to provide their children with equal or better education at half the actual current cost of over $22,000 for every Public School student.
3. District Chairpersons will confirm dutiful obedience to higher-ranking levels of the PAGOP unless there are indications of self-serving interests at work. We will always work to uncover any such improprieties to avoid embarrassing The Party and hurting families with self-serving candidates that only benefit donors.
4. When necessary or helpful, attendance may be by internet/zoom calls to help personal decisions be supported.
5. County Republican Committees shall have the authority to issue a formal censure of an elected Republican official within the PAGOP for actions deemed contrary to the values, mission statement, principles, or bylaws of Pro-Family interests. Such censure vote shall take place at a regular or special meeting duly convened for such purpose, and upon a majority vote of the County Committee members. Censorship steps must be considered when factual information illustrates a lack of legal or moral allegiance to the concerns of “Pro-Family” values on any issue.
We are left with a question: “Should those who are against Democratic Principles, like Secret Ballots in Republican Committee Meetings, be allowed to be voting members of the Republican Party?”

We learn about Attacks on Republican Integrity by what happens in individual Counties.
An issue seems to be undermining respect for our beloved Butler County and the wonderful, hard-working people in our Courthouse. This concern was uncovered by a Butler County Attorney, Jennifer GV Gilliland.
Working on her own, she examined what appears to be underlying facts about what Residents of Butler County were recently told: “The State requires us to hire one more Judge for our County Court.” Is this issue being used to undermine the wonderfully scandal-free reputation of the Butler County Courthouse?
This short post, “Did (State Representative) S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ break the law part 2?” by Attorney Jen GV Gilliland shows two points of view:
“I obtained proof that Butler County was NOT to be included in Senate Bill 361 to get another Common Pleas Judge.
In response to a right to know request that I filed, it was revealed that “There is no transcript of the committee meeting when Senate Bill 361 was considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee, but there is a video (a non-legislative record) of the committee meeting – Senate Judiciary Committee Meeting, April 25, 2023.
See video at approximately 21st minute: Senate Judiciary Committee Meeting, April 25, 2023. This video seems to prove that the Bill was drafted to add Common Pleas Judges for only 3 counties in Pennsylvania (Huntingdon, Chester and Columbia-Montour Counties) that had a need. For example, Huntingdon County only had 1 Judge who heard over 2,100 cases on average a year. In comparison, Butler County already has 6 Judges who each hear nearly an average of 918 cases on average a year.”
If those numbers are right, we do simple arithmetic: 6 x 918 equals 5,508 cases a year. When we divide 5,508 cases a year by 7 Judges, each will hear 786 cases a year. Each Judge will have 15% fewer cases, but their salaries, pensions, and benefits remain the same. The cost for a Judge is far higher than their salary. Each needs an office support staff. Here, support staff wages and benefits are around $200,000.00. The Judge’s salary comes from the State. Judge Yeager, back in 2022, heard about a new Senate Bill authorizing the spending for new judges. He intelligently realized that our County’s growing population, increasing legal complexities, and the fastest residential growth in the entire State must be considered when this “rare opportunity” surfaced.
“According to the bill sponsor in the video, this bill was prepared based on the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) comprehensive Common Pleas Judicial Needs Assessment Project. I asked Pennsylvania State Rep. S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ for a copy. She is my elected State Rep in Butler County, but she did NOT provide the respectfully submitted respect for a copy that I did obtain elsewhere. Like the video and the comparative case loads of other Pennsylvania County Judges, it appears to be “smoking gun evidence” that Butler County does not need a 7th Judge.
IN FACT, this Assessment concluded that not only do we NOT need another judge, but we have one too many based on real cases and data. The attached summary of our Total Judge Demand is 5. We already have 6! After this election, we will have 7!
Forty years ago, we only had one Judge. Today, many cases are far more complicated; the population has grown; fewer children are raised by families who teach them to respect law and order; and there are increasing crimes committed by out-of-county criminals.
What happened behind the scenes to amend this Bill to provide an additional Judge in Butler County, despite Butler County not having a need? Let’s remember family connections in The Butler County Republican Establishment: Judge M_ _ _ _ _ is retiring after decades of dedicated Public Service. His son is running , and so is State Rep. S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _‘s husband for the 2 open seats created the retiring to Judge M_ _ _ _ _, and the needless new judgeship created at the requests of whom?
S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ should have looked at the needs assessment and stopped this waste and abuse for us taxpayers.. Instead, she voted for a judgeship we don’t need. Magically, her husband, with barely 10 years of actual legal practice, decided to run for Judge.
The Republican Representative voted for a Bill from the Republican Senate, the last bastion of Family-Value Republicans in the State.
This is where it gets interesting! If S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _’s husband wins the Judge election, the annual income and benefits to the S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ household will be over $250,00-300,000 a year for what would probably be at least a 10-year term. This is over 3 million dollars to the S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ household. Similar benefits would flow to Judge M_ _ _ _ _’s son and household too, if he wins the unnecessary second seat that has magically appeared.”
“The salary and benefits would be in addition to State Representative Stephenie S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _’s state taxpayer job. The S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ family is looking to take in somewhere around 400-500,000 a year. That is mandated by those making such decisions that force us Butler County Workers and taxpayers, who have average annual wages of $43,000 a year.
S_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ and company claim they want government efficiency and to stop waste, abuse, and fraud but in my opinion, not when it comes to taking taxpayers’ hard-earned money into their households.”
That analysis was provided by Jen GV Gilliland Vanasdale, Esq. at the Gilliland Vanasdale Law Office, LLC which has been serving for more than 20 Years. Their motto: Standing up for Justice and You!
Many Republicans see a reason for not accepting that analysis: Democrats are moving into the Southern Part of our County to escape Allegheny County taxes, schools, and policies that were destroying their families. Many bring Party allegiance with them. Family-value Republicans may ask: “Is the request for another Judge being used to embarrass Republicans?”
Republicans with Family Values must be aware that enemies of our Party want to elect competing candidates now and in future elections. Those who run Democratic marketing campaigns always look for reasons to distrust all Republican officeholders. No one knows what goes on behind doors that are kept closed when Democrats unite with “Never Trump pseudo-Republicans” who look for reasons to destroy their opponents’ credibility. In this Judicial election, they may add up the years of legal experience of the two candidates they will call “insiders” because they are related to incumbents. They may point out that another candidate, Jim Insco, has spent more than twice as many years engaged in the actual practice of law as those they may accuse of being ‘insiders’ put together.
The Republican candidates are fine young men who are more worthy of compliments than insults. Being related to someone does not keep an individual from being blessed with abilities of their own. We must realize that “Butler County” may have been added to the list of places needing another Judge for two reasons: real need and to embarrass our Republicans, especially in the Southern, “purple” part of our County that is most vulnerable to those who destroyed the economy of Allegheny County, hurt their own families, and may be carpet-baggers who have moved to Butler County to loot us.
May all of us be blessed to work harder at “Loving God and our neighbors as ourselves.”
